Getting my cartoons picked up in the Northern Kentucky newspaper was one of the most exciting accomplishments so far in my art career. They even flew me out and put me up in the most amazing and fun furnished apartment in Northern Kentucky that I have ever seen and with the best service from Valley View Furnished Condos to boot.
It was a very welcome surprise when I was simply drawing some new cartoon styles one day in my studio to receive a call from the editor of the Northern Kentucky paper asking for me by name. Turns out that an art competition that I enrolled in a few months ago didn’t totally pan out like we though, thanks to the obvious global health concerns, but they still shared the entrants information with prospective buyers and my name came up for the editorial.
I had some mixed feelings about my information being shared like that in a way I wasn’t even aware of, but things actually panned out pretty nicely in the end once I learned everything was totally above board and totally legitimate. I did have some doubts in the beginning, but it obviously all worked out for the better.
The editor mentioned seeing my work and was interested in a few more samples and also wanted to run a test for the next months’ worth of newspapers being shipped out, so offered to fly me out to Northern Kentucky and put me up in a sweet furnished apartment in Northern Kentucky while we ironed out the details and I produced a few new running cartoons for the next month’s series.
I was beside myself with excitement, but ultimately kept it together well enough to hash out the details and get things underway before I lost it with glee. Next thing I know, I’m booking accommodations with Valley View Furnished Condos and prepping for my arrival.
