My life as a food writer has certainly had its ups and downs, but at least lately in Montreal Quebec Canada, I feel like I have been riding high and enjoying myself immensely. I supposed the executive suite in Montreal that I was able to book through Gesthab may have a lot to do with it too since I have been so comfortable and well cared for while I have been here.
I actually got into food writing somewhat by happenstance when I decided to start making some reviews for the restaurants in my hometown. It started off simply as a means of communicating which foods I liked to my friends so that they would be able to taste and enjoy the dishes that I enjoyed the most, but when they started sharing it with their friends who then shared it with their friends, things started heating up.
Requests started coming in not only from people who were curious about more of the food scene in my hometown, but also from restaurants who wanted me to come taste their food and then write about the experience for my readers. It didn’t actually dawn on me that I had become a food writer until almost a year into my personal food blog when an agent reached out asking to represent me and get me into large magazines.
I suppose its history from there since it really feels like a rollercoaster of a journey from my little, humble hometown writing to the national editorial that I am writing for now. And being on assignment in Montreal Quebec Canada is far above and beyond anything that I had ever imagined for myself.
The executive suite in Montreal that I have been enjoying here for this particular assignment has been extraordinary. It is so spacious and inviting, that I feel like I may have to get into interior design writing at some point in my career because I have been so inspired by what Gesthab has done with the place.
I don’t normally stay in accommodations like this, but because this assignment is a bit longer than the norm, I have been treated to this housing. I much prefer it and will definitely be making the case to have more of these.
I can’t imagine what this trip would be like now without my executive suite in Montreal. I have grown so fond of Gesthab and so appreciate what they have been able to do for me in Montreal Quebec Canada, I hope to come back!
