Working in Tallahassee FL as a sous chef has been one of the greatest learning experiences of my life. I have grown in so many ways on my path to becoming the head chef of my own restaurant, and having Corporate Accommodations of NW Florida by my side with their corporate housing in Tallahassee has given me the ability to really focus on my craft so that I can reach that dream even sooner.
It has been my goal to learn the culinary profession ever since I took my first cooking class in high school. It was an elective course that really got me thinking about how to prepare foods in unique and exciting ways. Growing up, my family didn’t really have many meals together, and the ones that we did typically involved some sort of takeout order.
Experiencing the joy of preparing my own meal in the way that I wanted it to be, and managing the whole process really opened my eyes to something new. I appreciated the methodical artform and was hungry to learn more about this way of living.
As time went on, I started experimenting with new recipes and incorporating some new flavors into variable dishes. Of course not everything that I made tasted good, in fact there were more than a few failures in my testing phase, but I thoroughly enjoyed the process of trying out these new options and making my own discoveries.
It was only natural to come to the conclusion that I would never be able to get deeper into the industry without some formal training and work experience, so I decided to take a leap and move out to Tallahassee FL for a while so that I could take up a sous chef position and start to really hone in on my trade. It has been a lot of hard work, but I can see so much progress already.
