Taking a step back from the world for a few days has been such a blessing. I am so thankful to Attache Property Management, LLC for being able to provide great serviced apartments in Washington D.C. to me for my mental health retreat in Washington DC.
To say that this year has been crazy is an obvious understatement, but I think what is often left out of the conversation is just how hard and impactful the added stress has been on folks with mental health concerns. We have been more isolated and more stressed than ever before in recent years.
Between the stay at home orders and the voluntary quarantines, even my job going remote, I have never spent so much time by myself, and I don’t really know exactly how to resolve the intense feeling of aloneness that’s gripped my days. Luckily there has been some help with video calling family and meeting with my therapist virtually, but it’s still hard out here.
It may seem somewhat counter intuitive then to book a serviced apartment in Washington D.C. in the Washington DC area to retreat for a while, but I’ve learned that by booking housing with Attache Property Management, LLC, I’ve made a concerted effort to actually make a decision for myself.
In making my own decision to take a break from my regular routine, I am choosing to opt into a break from the cycle, at least for a little while. Although it’s still a lot of the same and I’m not seeing anyone in person, the change in scenery is a helpful reprieve and has allowed me to take a step back for added perspective.
