I thought I was on top of the world when I was living in the big city and earning a large paycheck with my fancy, high-class job, but I didn’t realize just how fragile it all was until it came crumbling down around me when the layoffs came across the entire company. Luckily, I was able to get back on my feet with the help of Attache Property Management, LLC and their perfect serviced apartment in Washington D.C. when I relocated to Washington DC in search of new work.
Perhaps things worked out for the best because I wasn’t really even all that happy with my career at the time anyway, but it really took a drastic change in order for me to see that clearly and to see how much I did not actually need it in my life. I have now come to see the whole situation so much more clearly, looking at it from a new vantage point and seeing the late nights and stressful days having amounted to not much more than some high blood pressure and poor sleep.
Everything that I had come to value was so materialistic and shallow, that I didn’t even come away from all that time with a single friend! And what’s more, now that I’m looking for other work, I see that the skills I learned while on the job aren’t actually even transferable to what feels like 99% of other jobs.
But perhaps things happened as they did for a reason. Perhaps this needed to happen in order for me to escape that proverbial hamster wheel and explore the world around me!
